  • I think its clear when Dylan asks which seat should he take? He is referring to the US diplomatic position in the early 60s when the song came out. 'Kickin' in the front seat' refers to fighting communism while "Sittin" refers to standing by peacefully and letting it run its course. Pure genius. It Could also be referring to Rose Parks situation on the bus where she did not give up her seat. This song really summed up the times and is one of Dylan's most thought provoking songs.

  • Suddenly, it becomes a song about Civil Rights and the Red Scare.

  • I remember when this came out in '65. My brother had died in car crash about a month prior... on a Friday. The way it connects the growing commercialism of the nation to the everydays of life spoke to me and my friends. It made us cry for my brother. The way I could relate to this song is what makes Dylan such a powerful poet and songwriter.

  • Lmao ryan listen to this!

  • @farawaysoclose61 Sorry man, the reference is clear, I know now. I feel ashamed to call myself a Dylan fan and not know this.

  • @Robolizardslayer Im obviously being sarcastic my friend. I know this is a parody, I am a real Dylan fan, owning the majority of his albums and I know this is not him. It was just a form of humour.

  • @themanwith6 you're quite the observer, aren't you? Nothing slips past your keen senses. I'm fully aware that Bob did not "right" this song. But next time you want to insult some one, try not to be vulnerable to looking like such a dumb ass... It's called writing, but nice try. I remember my first time learning to spell.

  • @farawaysoclose61 Shut the fuck up, you self-important, degenerate cunt. No-one seeks, needs, nor wants your approval - can you even begin to comprehend that, you fucking backward bitch? You'd better get someone to read it you.

The post is what it is - and no-one claimed it was anything else: ALL else you have to say is only your fucking low self-esteem presumption and neurosis, so YOU need to get your HEAD out of YOUR ass, you poor fucking clown.

  • this is NOT bob dylan. i know him when i see him and this, my friends, is not him. he would never to that 2 his 's'es. LOL nice try

  • @BlakkGallagher Your a fucking loser trying to make meaning out of something with no meaning he didnt right this and he didnt perform this and if had performed it i bet it would have been to be funny

  • 10/10

  • This sounds like Bob Dylan in his younger years, if he's 71 when this song comes out he's gonna have an older voice covering it recently, plus he's a smoker, obviously, and Dylan does not say A. partyin' partyin' yeah nor B. We so exited, those are teenage girl lyrics, not a poets.
