1) The government will not have to run a "public option" for profit. What does this do to real competition in the free market?

2) Show me where government has succeeded in running a social program (of this magnitude) successfully?

3) Interesting that it's called an "option", when the government will mandate you to buy coverage if you want to breath American air.

1. The govt runs the post office, and yet UPS, Fed-ex, DHL and others all have thriving package delivery businesses.

2. The military. The fire dept. The police. Education.

3. It's called the public option because you can opt to buy private insurance.

1. The USPS would be bankrupt if it was a private company. USPS is subsidized. Does money grow on trees to help your family budget?

2. Why does Obama send his children to private school in DC, while at the same time opposing vouchers for private citizens if public Education is so successful?

3. One may not want the "public option". With Obama's mandate, many will be REQUIRED and FORCED into a government run option against their will.

1. Didn't you ask if private companies could compete against a govt program? Clearly they can and do.

2.  Again, an admission that private schools can and do compete. Of course the Obamas are rich. If all schools were private and only for the wealthy, then we'd have as many uneducated as we do uninsured.
