A #1 hit for Les Baxter. It went to #10 in the United Kingdom and finished at #5 for the year 1955. This hit was a big part of music history. On July 9, Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 with Rock Around the Clock, signifying the start of the Rock Era. This hit was at #4 at the time, so Les Baxter was there when the Rock Era started, along with Perez Prado, Nat "King" Cole, and Frank Sinatra.

My very favorite song as a young kid, still one of my all time favorites. Simply a classic

This song by Les Baxter has all the right ingredients to bring out emotions from our soul. The words, melody, arrangement, and instrumentation contribute to its magical aura. Many versions of this song exist and most, if not all are good, but for me this one is the best. Ron--Highway Stars Magazine

Sweet!
I found this song in the 1955 chart @ billboardvideos.(net)

The wonder of it all is that your mother will be with you as long as you wish it. I feel my fathers presence in my life every day. He passed away ten years ago. They never really leave us, because they know we would be too lonley.

A beautiful song, one of the pioneering songs of the 20th century. Brings memories to me of good times. My mother is ill with cancer and has been given months to live and I know after she is gone I will listen to this song and cry, but, that is what music is for... it allows us to grieve. I'm thankful that music exists.
