  • Some bonus video, it was just a rehash of the trailer with better audio.

  • Uru and Myst 5 are the only games in the series with realtime scene rendering. 3 and 4 are still prerendered, but use an engine similar to QTVR to allow the layer to rotate in place. That's why you still have to click to get from place to place in 3 and 4.

  • Riven is the best one :D

  • Loved the story line and artwork in this game. The Myst series is really a true work of art and creativity. Not your average game.

I preferred the graphics in Myst IV: "Revelation", but the storyline put it all together. Gotta have the Prima Guide to make it thru this one.

I agree - wish there were sequels.

  • Thanks=))

  • It's pretty competent English, actually. I wouldn't worry.

  • That's because Riven and Myst were pre-rendered, static scenes with the occasional QuickTime movie playing to provide animation. Exile, Uru, and Mysts 4 and 5 are all realtime 3D generated on your computer, using your graphics hardware. So while the quality of the scenes may be a little lower, the game itself has a lot more versatility. If you want it to look better, enable Anisotropic filtering and FSAA, but don't be surprised if the load causes problems. The worlds are still very detailed.

  • The graphics look like a step down when compared to the last Myst games. Riven was the prime.

  • Yes, it's the Myst Reader. Softcover only. It was so nice to collect all the books in all their formats. I cherish my collection! The Myst Reader is a great way to have them all in one. Not expensive as I recall.

  • You can get a combined edition of all three books on amazon, not sure if it's hardcover or softcover though.
