Hello there,
ASUS G1S A1 Running OS X.
Installation disc is iDeneb 10.6 OS X 10.5.8
Finally after daily hours I managed to get OS X Running on my Notebook PC which is ASUS G1S-A1, Now here is what I changed in my system:
1- 2GB - to 3GB Ram
2-500GB new HD for OS X Installation, I have the older vista HD in case I need that.
3-The most important for the wireless is that I got a new broadcom mini PCI Express and replaced it with the internal Intel WIFI piece.

Please note that WIFI won't work (Ethernet Do Work) with the bundled Intel WIFI card, You can get a USB Dongle or a mini PCI Express broadcom WIFI to make life easier.
A Broadcom Card costs me ~33$ and installed in 5 mints. Here is how :

-Flip your laptop and open the ram cover, You're going to find your Intel WIFI Piece, Follow the 2min video here and do take care ( Note in the video their card is mini PCI not mini PCI E, Although they are diffrent, Installation is pretty the same :) ) :

Cable colors which worked fine for me:

Main = Black
AUX = White

A photo of my Broadcam Mini PCI Express Connected show how cables are connected :

Don't worry about the third if your wireless card doesn't support it!

Note : Do that at your own risk.

Please if you installed OS X buy the original Leopard license and do support apple.

Thank you Apple for the great OS, Thank you ASUS for the Great NB.

Don't forget to find the modded BIOS for Apple - Again at your own risk!

If you want how to do that installation just Google "iDeneb G1S"

Note : I tried very hard to install Snow Leopard which is on my Lenovo s10e, With no luck, If you got any info about that let us know, I see Leopard as good ;)

Now here is the list of what worked:
1- Intel Core 2 Duo Dual cores after the BIOS Mod.
2- Broadcom WIFI After the replacement ( Again Intel WIFI WILL NOT WORK! )
3- Optical DVD Drive also Light Scribe ( Needs Software for Light Scribe, Find the free one! ).
4- Bluetooth
5- nVidia GeForce 8600GT 265 MB
6- Ethernet (LAN)
7- Webcam works with aMSN not with Photo Both
8- SD/SDHC CardReader. ( Check prothect Coomment :D )
....
What I see that don't work:
1- Modem ( Who needs that anymore ;) )
2- They say E Sata although I didn't test that or used it.
If you know anything about those info you can tell us and help the G1S users :)

  • if ur wifi card is not compatible can u just buy a dongle, stick it in and whala! or do u have to buy a certain one or can u not? thanks

  • @MarshManWillKill

you can always use a usb drive, but the broadcom is as cheap and not that hard to change!

  • Snow Leopard retail version can now easily be install in all Asus Intel base computers considered they all have dual processors either Pentium dual cores or Core 2 Duo's and above! They will run very stable! Mine Asus G2S computer works fine including the stock Intel Pro/WiFi 4965 card!

  • @LALOMAN18

I sold my G1S :) Mainly because it's heavy and battery life, but the performance was above my needs, Now I bought the 13" MBP, and am very happy with it! :D Thank you for your comment, The time I had the G1S I googled all over the internet and haven't found Intel 4965 drivers.

  • what about snow leo?

anyway to get this on G1S?

  • @dicksonboy

I have tried with no success, Leo is as good my friend, It's 10.5.8, Nothing wrong.

  • If this was shot with a 500d how come the video is SD instead of HD. Did you just encode it as SD to keep render times down or something. Besides, SD or HD the video still looked awesome, espeacially the bit at the beginning

  • I did the same with my G1S. I replaced to broadcom also. It's pretty good notebook, can handle mac.

  • @prothect would youn be so kind and upload the sdhc-driver? i got normal sd cards workin, but no 4GB SDHC..

  • @prothect It's not workin for me :(
