Kate performs "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" on the 1979 Christmas special.
Lyrics:
I hear him, before I go to sleep And focus on the day that's been. I realise he's there, When I turn the light off and turn over.
Nobody knows about my man. They think he's lost on some horizon. And suddenly I find myself Listening to a man I've never known before,
Telling me about the sea, All his love, 'til eternity.
Ooh, he's here again, The man with the child in his eyes. Ooh, he's here again, The man with the child in his eyes.
He's very understanding, And he's so aware of all my situations. And when I stay up late, He's always waiting, but I feel him hesitate.
Oh, I'm so worried about my love. They say, "No, no, it won't last forever." And here I am again, my girl, Wondering what on Earth I'm doing here. Maybe he doesn't love me. I just took a trip on my love for him.
Ooh, he's here again, The man with the child in his eyes. Ooh, he's here again, The man with the child in his eyes.

Don't say that Timgordon1. England is my second home and you've got much to be proud of. We're all having some bad times now but there'll always be an England.
@blairzel Why do Kate fans hate her? Kate AND Tori are the goddesses of sad piano ballads. I guess with your logic, every female guitarist after the 60s are rip-offs of Joni Mitchell.
I am a Goa/Psytrance DJ and (hobbyist) producer and have consistently only listended to electronic music for some 25 years, with one exception - Kate Bush - I am completely captivated by her voice, appearance and emotional connection to her material. For some reason, this song in particular always immediately brings up an intense surge of emotion in me and causes me to cry, sometimes just from the opening bars - Kate Bush is amazing - thank you for posting this, and the others.
I love Kate. I am not suprised she does celtic whichcraft as I , you and so many others are utterly spell bound by not only her music but her personality. Her speaking voice and tone is also utterly beautiful. I'm English and we dont have much to be proud of at the moment but at least we have Kate our English rose! Merry christmas. :)))))

I have her 1978 SNL performance of this song on my channel, but for some reason it doesn't show up in searches. Check it out.
