Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck Review

My first video of me reviewing one of my favorite tarot card decks. The Thoth tarot deck is very mysterious and filled with symbols. Please forgive me if the video sucks, its my first try : )

My fav deck also...however...one thing i found confusion about the thoth deck..why is their 2 magician cards in the major arcana? as opposed to only one in nomral decks

@harveydents The large deck I got only came with the one standard magician. I think the other magicians were drafts and put into the deck for you to decide which one to use.

@harveydents Originally the artist had drawn 3 magician cards. Crowley only picked 1. Don't use all 3 magician cards. The artist drew several of each card for Crowley to choose from. Only use the one that Crowley picked.

@TheSataniccorpse Absolutely correct. When explaining how one is to really understand the cards, Aleister writes this: "Then how is he to use them? How is he to blend their life with his? The ideal way is that of contemplation. But this involves initiation of such high degree that it is impossible to describe the method in this place. Nor is it either attractive or suitable to most people. The practical every-day commonplace way is divination."

@YaoiWiccan My deck has 3 magician cards. The archetype of the magician can manifest in life in three different ways. Each card is explaining one possible way. The AEON card explains itself clearly since March 2011 and will reveal more until Dec. 2012. Go on with the great work. Love is the law, Love under will! 93!

@harveydents Some decks come with 2 extra magician/ magus cards, Thoth , Mercury and Hermes , they are included for personal choice . If you are using for divination you pick your favourite to make 78 and seperate the other two. Hope this helps.

Oh and I wanted to say, as far as it not being a beginners deck, not true, at all! If someone was very drawn to this deck/system then by all means start with it, because the other main system is the RWS...with the Rider-Waite_Smith and is a whole different system. I know MANY readers who started and used the Thoth for decades. Nothing wrong with starting with it. Its the same as starting with the RWS. Read tons of books....practice, practice, practice your reading.....!

Actually the mediium USG version of the Thoth has 3 included, so whoever mentioned 2 is missing one....I have an original 1969 white box Weiser printing of the Thoth, the 1st Thoth ever printed ; ) Found it for $8 in a store...one of those miraculous finds....worth tons more.....
