This is the result of different football cultures. In Italy it is customary to kick the ball out of bounds when a player gets hurt. But in the British game it's play on until the referee blows the whistle.
I see this ALL THE TIME when Italian clubs play British clubs or National Teams. No style is more correct. Just different.
Italian teams have to be aware of this and make this adjustment rather than take it as a slight
