Why? Read on. "Thus you shall purify the altar and make atonement for it" "and the altar shall be purified, as it was purified with the bull." " Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and cleanse it, and so consecrate it. 27 And when they have completed these days, then from the eighth day onward the priests shall offer on the altar your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, and I will accept you, declares the Lord God.”.... Says it was to cleanse the alter for a peace offering.

This should have a technical answer. Something like the response from carlsonap16. I also believe that our brains to too small to understand of the ways of God same as a child of age 2 wont be able to understand anything about college mathematics.

Great question! Anyone who ACTUALLY makes the effort to test the NT claims against the OT will find themselves doubting how J-C could atone for all mankind's sin. Requiring that one must believe J-C as their "Lord and savior" breaks the first, second and third commandments right off. Check how many times YHWH says "I am ONE", "I am your only SAVIOR/REDEEMER/KING" and "beside me there is no savior/god/none else". The NT is nothing but fiction, "New Test", "Goodspell". Gen to Mal is truth!

How important is getting the answer to this question in relation to having you get down on your knees and ask God to have mercy on your soul and turning from your sins against God? What is necessary for you to place your trust in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation? Are you interested in a relationship with the one who created you or are you more interested in trying to poke holes into His Word? Anyone can poke holes into anything, I think you are smarter than that.

what say i then? That the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But i say, that the things which the gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to god: and i would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
I Corinthians 10:19-20

See (from Letter 1st below) cutting it;'s throat, and bleeding it into a bucket, the splashing the blood on the burning alter to please God. Jesus was not a vegan or member of PETA, he objected that they were charging for it and the poor could not afford it.(yes, religion is and always has been a business) He was killed 3 days later as a public nuisance in the regular round up of trouble makers. The charge was sedition (Inciting rebellion) not blasphemy (which was not a crime then)

(From Letter to Laura Schlessinger) 4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? This was part of the kosherizing processes from the time of Moses. The Rabies in the time of Jesus where performing the same rituals. People would bring their livestock to the temple or purchase livestock at the temple. Priest would charge for cutting its-

@helgardmuller1983 God's don't exist. And calling your god God is like calling your dog Dog.

The Jews are already doing animal sacrifice...where is jesus?
Chapter 39, is about the end, chapter forty goes back, to another vision in the future, but before christs return. It starts out saying," In the five & twentieth year of our captivity (574 B.C.),in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year, after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of the lord was upon me, and brought me thither." So chapter forty is NOT in the time after chapter 39, its a vision of the second temple not yet built.

@2skullscrushing Nice try. Ez 43:2-7 Describes God returning to earth and entering the temple and talking to Ezekiel where he says "And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever" (verse 7)... descriptions of offerings starts at verse 18.
