Native American - Amazing Grace (in Cherokee language)
is a beautiful version of this classic spiritual song.
"Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn written by English poet
and clergyman John Newton (1725--1807), published in 1779.
With a message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless
of the sins people commit and that the soul
can be delivered from despair through the mercy of God.
"Amazing Grace" is one of the most recognizable songs
in the English-speaking world.
I composed this video with images from the movie:
"Bury my heart at wounded knee", mixed with some pieces
out of the movie: "A man called horse."
The poems I've added are:
"Native American Prayer: Great Spirit"
(translated by Lakota Sioux Chief Yellow Lark in 1887
published in Native American Prayers by the Episcopal Church)
And a "Pueblo Indian Prayer: Hold on."
The first 2.17 minutes music are Native American Amazing Grace Flute.
Listen with your hearts and you will hear the beauty of all things
in this Native music.
It will touch your heart, soul and spirit
and you will feel a sence of oneness
with the Creator and, Mother Earth .
Nothing can be better than that...
With love, Ine

Lyrics Pueblo Indian Prayer

Hold on to what is good,
Even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe,
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do,
Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life,
Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand,
Even if someday
I'll be gone away from you...

Lyrics Native American Prayer

Oh, Great Spirit
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me, I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have
made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand the things
you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my Spirit may come to you without shame.

Amazing Grace (Amazingly BEAUTIFUL)
God's son paid for us then to heaven,
He went after paying for us.
But He said, When He rose?
I'll come again, He said when He spoke.
All the earth will end when He comes.
All will see him All over the earth.
All the good people living He will come after.
Heaven always, in peace they will live.

Lyrics Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
a life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
then when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind, but now, I see.

  • We all need to wake up seriously and start sharing what God gave to all of us. We need to be thankful for mother earth and not exploit it the way we´ve done so far. The destruction that happened to the Natives was only a start. The same thing keeps happening over and over again! I really don´t know where we´re heading and it´s so scary to see where the world is going.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this beautiful video. May Allah (swt) bless you for your efforts!

  • This is really beautiful and amazing, you are so talented Inousch.

Even a million thumbs is not enough.

    Much love,

  • Man is the cancer of this once beautiful earth.

  • I have listened to this song on you tube but you as usual have placed it in a magical video. Wonderful !!!

  • @SupremeARA915 you said this comment 3 months ago but I do find it strange that a person with native american blood would seem to support Israel. Very weird. What is happening to the Palestinians is exactly what happened to Native Indians.

  • well said description ..excellent video..

  • @SupremeARA915

..importantly, my faith doesn´t encourage me to be angry at ppl or answer them in a harsh way, no matter how mean they are. And if you think about it....how you feel about Muslims, says more about you than them.

I believe in that we all have to answer for our actions, our statements. I believe in God and that one has to do the right thing, be kind. Sitting behind a screen, anonymously is NOT an excuse to be unkind, rude or racist. So whoever you are...I TRULY wish you peace.

  • @SupremeARA915

....wasn´t going to answer your hostile comment but then I thought, for others who are reading this...I hope I can show them how some Muslims really are. Muslims who try to practice their faith. Although, like all human beings, you´ll always find extremists and wackos in every culture, country etc. Because we´re all human beings, not free from faults.

Strangely enough, I´m not even angry at your comment. I meet that kind of prejudice everyday. And more importantly...

  • @SupremeARA915

Hi! With the way your tone is and your prejudice towards Muslims....I don´t think it´ll matter much to you what I say. You already seem to have made up your mind.

As for God, there´s nothing called "Muslim God". God is an entity, an all encompassing power that can´t be claimed by any one religion. He is there for whoever wants to reach out to him. The Creator of all things. That´s how I, a religious Muslim, sees it. God is not a product that can be copyrighted.

    I wasn´t.....
