  • so what if they sold out, everyone has to pay rent and by food, even death cab. Selling out is the best thing that can happen to a band, if your looking strictly from a survival perspective. I mean, if your just in for the music then thats awesome and cool, but dont expect to make money, death cab probably didnt start out trying to make money, ben had a good job and so did chris, but they just got lucky, people were like hey here's an assload of money to make a bad ass record. Ma

  • i think everyone wants to get paid well and wants recognition for doing what they love. i don't think anybody faults them for that. but if you could imagine someone like shakespeare writing tawdry romance novels simply because they paid well...there's a certain dilution of your art - simply to get paid, that is unattractive. i don't personally think death cab sold out. but their sound is different now for better or worse. they definitely have a different audience than they did in the beginning.

  • @brianjbean regardless, they still refuse to use any sound enhancers and most of their recordings are raw recordings so it's truly them and not computer enhanced crap. i even think plans was recorded old school without computers. no matter what sound they put out, always will respect em as a band.

  • @dizzyvegan they just have a totally different sound on Transatlanticism and Plans compared to You can play these songs... and we have the facts.

I think its because they grew up lol they got over the slowcore routine, which I will never get over!!!

  • @brianjbean well said buddy :)

  • @deirdre216 This and Company Calls Epilogue are my favorites....SO hypnotic...

  • @iamnotglenndanzig No one good uses them anymore. or recogniseable anyway. Last person who really promoted them was john frusciante (RHCP) Also eric clapton. Some see them standard and boring. I prefer ibanez tbh. Theyre pretty bad ass. But strats have a good melodic tone to them.

  • umm excuse me there were 4 good albums plans or whatever it was was a little jenky. however its my buddys favorite i really think they have not sold out thaaaat much

  • Squire Bullet (made in Japan)

  • perfect
