Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he couldn't gauge Andy Pettitte's desire to return to the Yankees after speaking with him Tuesday.
"You know, he didn't really give me a feeling either way," said Girardi. "We want him to come back. It's just a process that has to take place. It's one of the things we'll continue to work on." The Yanks have offered him a one-year, $10 million deal but Pettitte doesn't want to take a pay cut from the $16 million he made in '08.
