Filmed 9/17/2010, this turn of the century working steam-powered sawmill can be seen every year at the 'Field Day of The past' in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia USA. A very impressive machine!
@chas4551 Safety regulations back then clearly weren't what they are now. However, everything being exposed like that, I would imagine that would make it easier to fix and maintain... But yes, that does make it very dangerous.
@JJAG352 Yeah - I'm just wondering if they ever kept a record of how many got caught in the unguarded chains, pulleys, belts and everything else flying around! You'd think for engineers they could of thought of a few guards.
