Highland Stallion Josethdene standing at stud near Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland.

(Please note, Joe came to Morrich Highland Ponies in 2008, not 2009 as stated in the commentary!).

Josethdene was Ridden Highland Pony Champion at The Sutherland County Show in 2010. He was on stud duties at the time, taken out from his mares to be shown, then returned to the mares. At the shows, he behaves so well, no one can believe he is a stallion.

  • Joe was trained by the breeder, Scott McGregor, a famous name in Highland pony circles and owner of the Ballinton Stud and dene affix. Scott emigrated to Australia to be near his daughter but (thank goodness!) did not take Joe with him. Joe isn't just a good mover with a great temperament, he is also easy to manage without the common tendency to become obese or succumb to illness. He is passing his qualities on to his progeny -- see my other videos and may be available via AI in 2012.
