Rescue crews took to kayaks, horseback and ATVs at daybreak Saturday to resume the desperate search for about two dozen campers still missing after flash floods swept through a popular campground. (June 12)
i dont understand how the water wouldnt wake you up and you being able to grab on to something? 8 feet in one hour - thats about and inch a minute- plenty of time to realize something was up- was everyone drunk and passed out perhaps? or just really unlucky?
A small river contained in a steep walled canyon.... I can see why this area was not zoned for housing. Whoever put a campground in this location is guilty of negligent homicide.
I hate to see this I asked ealier if this camp allowed dogs at this camp cause dogs would have went crazy if they heard smealt this water rushing their way. In situations like this seconds mean life. Cody Lunden's book warns of this pending disaster that it might not be raining where you are but a flash flood should be expected when near river beds. So sad to see so many go what were their ages?
@macks3123 you're right, some of those people that died must not have even known what was actually happening. it's so sad.
