Frustrated with the typing keyboard in your mobile phone? With the next technology trend coming into mobile devices, it is essential to have an easy to use typing design. Here we present three technologies that are trying to earn the best user experience to take over the mobile arena. First, the new design of the 8pen allows for the replacement of the conventional keyboard for one that arranges the most used letters and characters in 4 sectors around a central ring. To "type" you place your finger on the center ring and draw loops through the sectors. Second, Swype uses tracking paths with your finger to automatically detect and write words in an easy, fast, and efficient manner. Last and best, Blindtype is essentially what it means, type it in any way you want, blind, loosely, upside down, it will detect what you mean and write it for you. It's kind of novel but it does make texting fun. One thing i'm theorizing about is that no matter how fast one can become with a normal keyboard, they can hardly be entirely accurate. With this, though it's painfully slow at first, it allows for a much greater accuracy. In THEORY, a pro at 8pen would be a much better typist than one on a normal keyboard, granted they had the same experience. (remember, we've all had years and years of standard keyboard typing experience. Give it a chance.)
