Pied de Poule performed by THE COCKETTES!

"Musician Virtuoso Dana Baitz gets together with Performer Extraordinaire Mirha-Soleil Ross to form THE COCKETTES, a trans-sexual duette serving original punk-trash revivals of old Kébékois classics such as Bobépine, Pied-de-Poule and Call Girl. Baitz gives the tunes a new, sophisticated, sexually tense, ruf-n-tuf personality... while ROSS seems to be channeling the poor tortured souls of some old psychiatric asylum. The result is... discombobulating to say the least. ROSS' singing is so horrible that it nails you to your chair; it paralyzes your vital organs like the venom of a deadly snake and leaves you dumbfounded, stunned, speechless... The trauma is profound, for as you watch the act, contradictory feelings emerge. You end up envying the total comfort and freedom she has granted herself. The trauma is also profound, 'cause you end up, God knows why, wanting more! You are possessed by the violence and insanity of the characters ROSS is channeling, as much as you are by the live musical force with which BAITZ is opposing -- or matching - them. Both should be admired for their guts and good sense of humor... Without such qualities, I doubt THE COCKETTES would ever existed."
