Rationality and Scientific objectivity are not negotiable.
PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE COMMENTING:

CRITIC ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: "Iran, China, India and Brazil are the only developing countries among 31 nations with 97.5% of the world's total scientific productivity. The remaining 162 developing countries contribute less than 2.5% of the world's scientific output." (David King in the journal Nature 430, 311 ;2004)

Let me make it clear: I am against the spread of any radical religion.

Radical Islam is bad.

However misusing statistics or cherry picking statistic that prove your point and don't mention the other that go against your point is dishonesty, and shouldn't be promote.

This video aim to show why some people, Freethinker, criticize the latest video of Thunderf00t:
"The Real threat from Islam" :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnEeTBuPQuo

His video is to put in Intellectual dishonesty or propaganda or ignorant video categories, because of the way he use statistics, maps and present the state of scientific publications in the Islamic World.

This may have been unintentional from his part, but when you are Thunderfoot I expect you dig a little more in a subject before presenting anything.

Therefore, I shall use proper data, statistics and graphics to give the necessary tool for his audience to understand the current situation regarding the current contribution of the Islamic world to Science so they may have there own point of view with more knowledge on the current situation which is, in my opinion, not as bad as what Thunderfoot may have presented in his video:
Not all Muslim countries or people living in those countries are extremist Islamic wanting to return at the stone age.

This video use data of 3 papers that can be found at:

http://recherche-iedes.univ-paris1.fr/IMG/pdf/Measuring_Research_and_Developm...

http://www.slideshare.net/aimeew/30-years-in-science-secular-movements-in-kno...

http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/print/42134

Once again, don't get me wrong I am against radical religion spreading but I am also against ignorance and intellectual dishonesty .
You can criticize religion but when you use statistics or any kind of data against it you must use it in a fair way and make sure to not distort reality.

As stated in the UN report 2003 one of the main problem for knowledge development in Arab countries is NOT religion, but the Fusion of Politics with Radical Islamist. Indeed the people at the government intend to keep the power and for that they need the debilitating effect and justification by the radical.
But even the radical are not the only problem:
THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE POLITICS (like a lot of developing countries) and as stated in the conclusion of the UN report.

Here is the conclusion of the UN report:
"Knowledge lights the lamps that point out
the way on the Arab journey to the future.
Nothing in religion, culture and history blocks
those beacons. On the contrary, Arab heritage
declares that knowledge must shine through
all the endeavours of humankind. What has
blotted out that light is the work of mortals:
the defective structures -- political, social and
economic - that have hidden knowledge from
the Arab people and eclipsed its full possibilities.
Yet what human beings have wrought
human beings can remove, and must, so that
the flame of Arab learning can once again
burn bright and long in this new Millennium
of Knowledge."

People interest on the subject of why the Islamic World is underdeveloped may want to read the new book of Timur Kuran, Economist specialized in the Islamic World at Duke University:
The Long Divergence: How Islamic Law Held Back the Middle East
http://www.amazon.com/Long-Divergence-Islamic-Held-Middle/dp/0691147566/ref=s...

The thesis go something Like this: If the Islamic world is underdeveloped it's because it's Islamic law are outdated and prevent the development of a modern economy.
Watch the video in the highest quality possible to be able to see what is written and the graphics.

I am currently realizing an other video which will be less critical of the statistic use and will aim to actually have a better understanding of the causes of the end of the Islam Golden age, which unlike Thunderf00t presented were not only due to the rise of fundamentalist Islam, actually there is much debate between the scholars on this subject.
The video will also aim to have a better understanding of the current views of science in the Islam world which can be roughly divided into 3 categories (once again this is based on what scholar said) showing once again that the "whole"Islam don't have the same vision of science...
Indeed things are much more complex then Thunderf00t has shown.

  • iam mirror it ..i hope u won,t mind

  • its was good experience to find ur channel on youtube .very imformative

  • @mucephi1 Ok thanks for showing your true opinions. I have nothing else to add.

  • @philateliceun The world is safer because of the US military not pizza hut you moron. And yes it was worth wiping out whole cultures- that has happenned all throughout history and STILL does not explain the apparent hatred and disdain arabs have for each other.

  • @mucephi1 what? So the looting and slave trading was all good because we have the USA? Erasing entire cultures from the face of the earth was good because we now have Pizza Hut and Coca Cola? Talk about indoctrination.

  • @philateliceun Anything that is successuful and benefits people can be considered good. The "colony" that was the USA changed the world forever, saved the world from Nazi and communist rule, and did more for Arab nations in the form of aid etc than any arab nation does to help their own. That is what I think is pathetic and the real point of this arguement.

  • @mucephi1 What the fuck are youtalking about? It just looked as if you used the US as an argument for saying Colonialism was good. I don't give a flying fuck about arabs and whatever plight they should have according to you. And I didn't ask you if the USA was a colony I asked you if you just said that because it was a succesfull colony that colonialism was good.

  • @philateliceun No im not kidding you- the USA WAS in fact a colony. Are you KIDDING me by saying that european colonialism is the reason why no Arab country on earth donates a rats ass to the palestinian cause? Seriously stop making excuses and do something constructive besides whine like a bitch. Whatever wrongs have been done in the ancient past is no excuse for arabs turning a blind eye to the plight of other arabs- who do you think you are selling that bullshit to?

  • @mucephi1 "Well hey at least they get to blame evil European colonialism-oh wait wasnt the US a colony too?"

So wait, are you saying that because the US was a successful colony European colonialism was good? Are you fucking kidding me?
