how come the new youtube theme sucks like all my friends hate it lol i want the old one back is there an option to do so coz the new one pisses me off i prefered the star rating for videos than thumbs up and down i want to give this 4 stars but its thumbs 4 thumbs...btw 182 days FOR SCOUTS WTF!!!arent scouts suppose to be like u know less time to build what equipment do those scouts have golden plate from mars?

Shucks! Well thanks for the heads up on that info. I guess it'll be a few more MoM games and other PC classics or snes roms for the old masterpieces like FF1-6 and ChronoTrigger. Yeah I know I'm a retro nerd gamer. :)

Just as an FYI but any game with a release date labeled as the first of a month is typically an estimate and will always change :)

It basically means expect it hopefully by Q4 this year

Again, looks great! I'm already feeling a jones coming on for this game looks very cool. The option to put different gear on even your wimpy armies looks very nice. I hope there is quest options within the game as well.

Definitely looking forward to September 1st 2010. Great video post I'll be looking forward to newer posts. :)

This game is based off of Master of Magic roughly, which was a spinoff of Civilization. ... I guess Modern Warfare is a spinoff off of Doom... :)

Well stardock themselves have a 3D world map, yes. But they're not giving it to us so we can report on gameplay bugs and ideas rather then OMG MY LEADER'S HAND IN HIS HEAD!!! type of bugs

And stardock has made 4X games before (GalCivs 1 and 2)

So this is what it's like to play a game that doesn't have graphics yet.

It's really telling of a game's priorities if the beta doesn't even have a 3d world map. Not that that's bad, just that this game seems like a Civilization spinoff.

It's a beta so we don't have access to all of the features yet.

We'll probably have battles a few months down the road

Yeah I'll probably make a video for each stage of the beta (meaning beta 2, 3, 4). The changes from beta 1B to 1C and such really aren't as big as you think

The biggest updates will be REAL graphics and the battle system lol.

According to the elemental wiki the beta is on 1C - "Initial AI System Implemented"

Next is beta 1D - "Initial Diplomacy system Implemented" sounds awesome, no release date on 1D yet oddly enough there is a release date on Beta 2, which is 2/25/2010

Assuming it is correct then by 2/25 we should have:

Diplomacy system

Dynasty system

Magic system

Quest system

all implemented

Are you going to make videos to show the new features for the different versions of the beta when they come out?

I can't wait to play this, GalCiv II is fun but this will be a nice breath of fresh air.
