Totaled 2004 Mazdaspeed MX5 Miata

My 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata hit a patch of black ice on the highway the evening of January 10, 2009, while going about 65 MPH. I lost control of the car, and spun a 360, in the process of which the car hit the guard rail at both the front and rear of the car. No other cars where involved, but from my reckoning, the car is totaled.

We were on Rt 93 South, south of Boston in Milton, MA, just before exit 6. While we were talking to the responding State trooper, we witnessed several other cars lose control, spinning, and piling up. At least 6 other cars were involved in the chain of events, seemingly unrelated to my incident, but obviously due to the same icy road conditions. As Im watching the evening news right now, I just learned about a 60 car pile-up on Rt 93 in New Hampshire... Not my incident, but same thing again.

This video was taken on January 23, 2009 at the tow lot where the car was brought after the accident.

Yea, I had snow tires on the car with "Sport Edition" wheels... did need anything super fancy for winter, but still wanted it to look nice. Don't remember what type of tires the snow tires were.

I still have the stock MSM wheels with very recent tires on them... KDW-2's. I have a little curb rash on at least one of them, but nothing *really* bad. I might be willing to part with them for the right price.

Unfortunately, I do not now where the car sits now.

That fuckin sucks my sister just crashed hers 2 days ago. Im so pissed. I feel bad for whos ever car this was. What a loss.

First off: Hope you walked away from it okay. Looks like the crumple zones worked pretty well to protect you.

Second: Do you know where the car is? I'd be interested in parts for mine! Particularly I need a couple of wheels (bad curb rash on both my right wheels).

Very Sad!  I love my MSM sooo much and that just makes my stomach hurt! I think the VR curse is taking point to the Ti.
