In an August 4 interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, Sen. Nelson talks about the challenges that still remain for cleaning up after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
The chemical dispersant is a surfactant which lowers the tension of water. It's what most detergents are made of, ( like Tide.) Surfactants may soften the gills of fish. The fish will suffocate in water with disperants and die. That's why many fishes are not found on the seashore. They are sinking to the ocean beds.
And what about the sniff test for oysters? Come there has to be a more scientific way. Isn't there a lab test that can verify the presense of oil or dispersants
