We finished strumming, and smiled at our family. They were beaming up at us, on their feet...as was the rest of the crowd.
We hopped off our stools together and bowed. We smiled, waved, then exited the stage. Nick pulled me into a hug as soon as we were back stage. I giggled.
"That was awesome," he said happily.
"I know," I said. "Now let's go! I want Joey."
"I call Kevy!" Nick said.
We handed off our guitars, then took off for our brothers. We were laughing, when we came into the auditorium. We slowed, knowing we would be in trouble if caught running. Great jobs, hand shakes, and pats on the back met us.
Dad, Kevin, and Joe gave us each a hug. I sat down in between Joe and Dad. Nick was in between Joe and Kevin.
"That was an amazing song sweetie," Joey whispered.
"Thanks Joejy. We wrote it for you a few days ago," I mumbled back. He smiled at his old nickname. I think he missed it.

"I am so sick of this girl!" Joe exclaimed, frustrated. It's a week after the AMA's.
He was in his room, reading an article about Joe aparently cheating on Taylor with Camilla. Um, no! Camilla is just a sorta friend, nothing more. Joe's been catching constant wrath from paparazzi about this.
"Joey, stop yelling!" I wasn't in a good mood either.
"No!" He screamed.
I stomped into his room. He got up from his computer and glared at me.
"Yes. I don't care about your little problems. Shut up!"
"Nicole, watch your mouth. I'm really not in the mood for it," he said.
"Does it look like I care what your in the mood for? Stop whining," I snapped.
He grabbed my upper arm roughly. He delivered a sharp, hard smack to my bottom. "Shut it, now. Or I will spank your bare bottom with this belt. Respect me, and live with what I do. I'm older and you do what I say, understand?"
I had had enough of him. I looked straight into his eyes.
"Let go of me, you asshole. You're not my fucking father!"
I couldn't stop it from coming out. I had pushed him too far. Before I could even realize what was happening, he had slipped his belt out of his belt loops.
He raised it up and brought it down hard onto my bottom. I screamed in shock. He brought it down again, causing me to yell once more. I waited for the third, but it didn't come.
All of a sudden, a pair of arms were pulling me behind their body. I looked over Nick's shoulder, wrapping my arms around his waist, and took in Kevin holding Joe back.
A second of complete silence passed. I was looking at Joe in complete fear. He had hit me...hard. Harder than I had ever been hit before. He didn't even care. He was still angry, and holding the belt in his hands.
Joe looked over at me, then to Nick, next Kevin, the belt in his hands, then back to me. Total shock over took his features. The belt dropped from his hands.
He broke free of Kevin's restraints, and ran from the room.
"Joseph!" Kevin yelled, but it was too late. We heard the door slam...
And he was gone.
