  • Thank you radziwill.

I think Gould & JSB himself would have LOVED this!

This installation says so much about the enduring quality of Bach, and the role the internet/thechnology plays in arts and culture.

Also I can fully apprieciate how time consumeing and painstakeing this must have been to produce.

    Absoulutely wonderful!

  • Cory is clever beast!

(I'am totally glad that you like it- this is my first film on youtube...)That artist is very into music-maybe his other works will also wake so positive emotions in you mercoid(you have interesting alias):)

  • alias....? mercoid....? Yeah. I wanted an old thermostat for my 1920's house, one that would fit with the decor also from the 1920's. I found one on e-bay made by Mercoid Controls. I loved the name. So made it my YT name. Then one day I googled it. Turns out Mercoid Controls was a big bad evil company that had to pay out tens of millions to thousands of ppl for something horrible... oh well.

  • is not so bad!..i was curious, and I found it at wikipedia;p -Mercoids (creatures that eat mercury)(???)sounds quite evil :D

  • This is an two screen video installation

yes! Cory took films from youtube-cut them, and put together-to create Bach's composition!

  • @radziwill123 Actually -- no. The video and the audio don't have much to do with each other. Although no doubt both come from Youtube, but the notes being played in the video can't be the same as the notes we hear in the audio.

  • ahhh, i see what you did here....very cool!

  • GORGEOUS.

  • Arcangel is very, very good. He makes a lot of powerful art from simple ideas, which is always an impressive feat.

His exploration of the so-called "new media" is just breathtaking. Interestingly, his work doesn't really displace the artist at the center -- as some hope to do with these "interactive" mediums -- because although the attitude comes from the "democratic" hacker mentality, he really sets himself far apart from your average You-Tuber in terms of concept and execution.

  • Very cool.

  • That's some hardcory editin' work
