@TheCrazyOgre I was using random examples there, with .03 and .05. If what verachion says is correct about the theta range, 4-7 hertz, than you certainly can't hear it. What you can hear is a 4 to 7 hertz difference between two tones that are higher, audible to humans, and then you can experience entrainment. I've had people who claim their videos are completely binaural have sounds that are completely not. Of course, since they're 'enlightened,' there's no telling them this.
TheCrazyOgre The whole point of binaural beats is to deal with the fact that you can't hear a beat of .05 hertz. What you do is put it in a range you can hear, say .03 hertz in one ear and .08 in another, and the brain hears the difference, the difference between the two tones is what your brain hears when it "entrains." Most people don't seem to know this. Also, many of the videos claiming to be binaural on youtube aren't. This made be to low quality compression. Distracting noise doesn't help.
After all the videos claiming to have theta, and the lack of effects I have noticed on myself, I must say, I think theta must be so low we cannot pick it up, because it has done nothing so far.
