U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today unveiled a blueprint for building 100 new nuclear power plants in 20 years. He said it was his own blueprint in support of the four-step low-cost clean energy plan supported by the Senate GOP, which also calls for electric vehicles, offshore exploration for natural gas and oil, and doubling energy research to make renewable energy cost-competitive.
Any comment Senator after hearing about the disaster in Japan.

Awesome.
Nuclear is the best energy option by far.

I like the 100 plants plan, but I would better like it added to the current bill that just came into the Senate from the House.

Senator Alexander has some good ideas, but perhaps should practice his delivery so he does not have to hold his speech in his hand.
The "all-of-the-above" approach is reasonable for a campaign plank, but may be too expensive for actual policy implementation. Recommend a strong engineering evaluation to narrow the field of options.
