  • can you run windows 7 embedded on it ? are there drivers for it ?

  • @arasaslan sure. MPC Data and Adeneo have Windows Compact Embedded 7 running on the xM. MPC Data gave hands-on classes at last year's ESC Boston (google "mpc data beagleboard-xm windows 7"). Adeneo has their BSP listed on the Microsoft page (google: "adeneo beagleboard-xm windows 7").

  • he said ubuntu wrong.

    raged.

  • Wish it had multiple Ethernet ports

  • Unfortunately it seems difficult to get my hands on a board here in Europe. Watterott doesn't have any stock. I'm eager to experiment with it as having health problems also gave me a lot of spare time to tinker and experimenting with the ARM platform is very high on my list.

  • How about a design consisting of CPU module and baseboard, similar to the Odroid or Technexion OMAP products? This would expand the possible application area while simplifying overall system design.Hope the xM will be available early next year.

  • According to the specifications, power can be supplied by "USB 2.0 OTG port optionally powers" and "5V power". It is possible to make it powered by Power over Ethernet", as I am thinking about buying a PoE capable router?

  • Well the Tegra 2 is reported now to be 20 percent over power budget and hardly shipping so I guess the XM kicks it's butt anyway.

  • @Zachstar2000@Zachstar2000 Actually the OMAP processor contains an A8-Cortex + PowerVR SGX which is faster than the APX 2600 or 600 Tegra Applied in this Low Power Market. Tegra 2 is a little too power hungry despite it being an ARM based SoC because it contains 2 superscalar A9-Cortex cores, A GPU and many DSPs. Thats more for a Netbook solution, not so much the BeagleBoard.
