can you tell me, was this his first release nationally? i remember it on the juke box at one my hangouts in louisiana back when i was really young and really stupid. the only thing i got out of my younger days was a great love for this kind of music. i feel so sorry for the young ones now, for what they have to listen to.

I love these old songs - pure country music telling stories about life which many can identify with. Gene does a fantastic job as always. He sounds wonderful on everything he sings. I hope there are still some great songwriters around to keep more classics going for years. Thank you Joan for posting this. (I'm glad to know your name now). - Paula

WOW, what a post, Thanks to ramey58 for sending me your way. I have all of that hooked up to my computer and do a lot of my old vynl, 78's etc to my computer and make CD's. Thanks. posting my subscription to your site now.
