The Volvo truck maker Volvo signed an agreement at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum to open a second truck factory in Russia. But its number one rival - Scania - is still hesitating over whether to set up an assembly plant in the country.

So why go to Russia to build trucks rather than say the UK? I already know the plethora of reason why not,for example,work force costs,taxes,lack of decent material transport infrastructure etc.Not forgetting the hundreds of middle men and politicians who would want to line their pockets which drives the cost of any project through the roof,always making them over schedule and over budget. UK gov is plenty pissed at manuf. constantly pulling out of the UK and refusing to build here at the moment
