Baked beans are an American classic. This updated version is perfectly balanced with sweetness from the molasses and brown sugar, smokiness from the bacon, and a bit of acid from the onion, mustard, and tomato paste. Using two different colors of beans creates more visual interest. Recipe at: http://www.ciaprochef.com/northarvest/recipe6.html

Cool.. Thanks for responce, when soaking beans overnite, I use a tablespoon of Baking Soda, it take the stink out; another words, in not sleeping alone, LOL... Try using a shot of espresso coffee in mix...

  • @johnnybagofdonets Yeah it was around, but I think more traditional to use a t. or so of dry Colemans Mustard. Our traditional (Grandma,Mom, Me, or about 100 years) is you soak beans overnight, boil 15 minutes, then just stir all together. bake at 275 for 8 hours. Uncover the last hour, you may have to add a small amount of boiling water half way through.

  • Was dijon mustard available during the early 1900’s in Boston for it's traditional dish?
