This film still stands tall (head and shoulders above) modern day space films in terms of atmosphere and special effects. It oozes sophistication and boasts a fantastic storyline. In my opinion it is the visuals that make this film really stand out. I have edited a short film to illustrate the beauty of the shots in this film. It shows that no matter how long these hot-shot computer geeks practice on their shitty maya etc animation programs, they will never come close to having the skill and talent that was required back in 1968. The models, animations, lighting and shots are faultless in every way.

Nice job dude. Still the best sci-fi movie going. I would highly recommend Moon aswell- it has a great score too
