W6SJC amateur television kit test file 2

This is a field test (File 2) of a San Jose RACES amateur television (ATV) kit by Kevin N6MPU where he extended video cable to do more "site survey" coverage. File 1 of W6SJC kit test had the camera fixed on a tripod.

Transmission was done completely under battery power. Reception was 1/4 mile away. One of the new cameras was used and reception was recorded on the new 25inch TV set with built-in VHS VCR. Video looked great in realtime but appears it is "too hot" (over-deviated) on the tape.

ATV kits for SJ RACES (W6SJC) were assembled and tested on Saturday July 7 for use at the SJ Grand Prix later in July 2007. Chris N6WCP, Kevin N6MPU, Ben WB6FRM, Don KK6MX, and Michael K6MFW spent Saturday preparing these kits. Thanks to Chris and his family for a great BBQ later that day!
