Finally, we have all 4 of our favorite Verge mobile editors together for a Tuesday Verge Mobile Show. When their powers combine, the force is so awesome even Google can't handle it. Despite the technical difficulties, Dieter, Chris, Vlad, and Dan manage to have a great debate. Are we finally approaching a specs plateau in mobile phones, or will there always be room for improvement? We'll let you decide for yourselves.

I like how on the audio at 19:00 minutes chris starts talking over vlad and vlad mumbles things like stop. now. but on the the video vlad is just cut out and cut back in conveniently. I guess that's the benefit of a google hangout?

I had a Sidekick II, arguably the cool great uncle of all Android and iPhone devices. If you understood how it worked than you know that I am right. It was fun, balanced, and easy to use with vast capabilities 3 years before the iPhone. It was the first phone to make Palm and Blackberry devices look like horse pulled carriages...

For a tech show, the audio quality is awful. How about everybody gets the same audio setup so you guys don't sound like you're in a basement?

In my opinion, buying my phone on contract through a carrier is not the issue. It is a contract and you're buying the phone at a reduced price. My issue is that they do not readily allow you to unlock that device once your contract is up. That is the most frustrating thing for me.

In Russia, for example, all the phones are sold "unlocked", The mobile networks just provide the actual connectivity and the services related. I can't help, but wonder, how many more phones would be sold here, if people could actually enter a contract and get a new phone each 2 years. So, from where I'm standing, the carriers in the US allow more people to get access to the latest technology than say in Russia, hence not only the carriers benefit, but the consumers as well. IYNWIM.
