@micah1116 Hello friend. The Coconino Sandstone was water deposited. Wind deposits never produce stone. You need water to solidify the mass. 2 Peter 3 says that scoffers would come in the last days who would be "willingly ignorant" that the earth was flooded.
-
@Jman3000 Hello friend. Here is the truth regarding these 'scientists'......."Knowing this first, that there shall come IN THE LAST DAYS SCOFFERS, walking after their own lusts.......for this they WILLING ARE IGNORANT OF, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: By which the world that then was, being OVERFLOWED WITH WATER, perished." 2 Peter 3 (emphasis is mine)

@Jman3000 Hello.....it's based upon the assumption that the 'geologic column' is true. Funny thing is that the 'geologic column' only exists in one place on earth.....on the printed page. If you look at the world's geology through 'evolutionary glasses' there are many things which can't be answered. If you look at the world's geology through 'biblical flood glasses' then it all makes sense.

@Jman3000 Hello again.....bear in mind that nearly the entire earth's surface is covered in water deposited sediments, some 18 miles thick. Fossil graveyards are everywhere just as you would expect with sudden burial.
-
@johnthreesixteen316 I wasn't clear. I believe what you say about Noah's flood. I'm just trying to understand things like how people date rocks.
-
@Jman3000 Hello friend. This is how the dating is done.....if a dinosaur fossil is found, it is assumed to be 60 to 110 million years old. Of course the 'cretaceous' rock in which the fossil was found must be 60 to 110 million years old too. This is not science. It is a belief. We must always look at the fact that the fossils are found in water deposited sediments. That answers the question 'what happened to the dinosaurs?' Noah's flood buried them along with the millions of other creatures.
-
@johnthreesixteen316 I think that myself. I'm trying to understand things.
-
@Jman3000 Hello friend. Circle reasoning is used to age the rocks. The sediments containing the fossil record were produced by Noah's flood 4400 years ago.
-
Helped me on my science project. Thanks <3
How does she know that it is 235 million years old? I'm not doubting it, I am just trying to understand the logic behind determining the age of rock layers.

Sorry lady but it doesn't take millions of years, the sedimentary rock that covers the entire planet was laid down by the flood of Noah. I'd like for her to explain polystrate fossils such as whales and trees extending through multiuple layers, they didn't stand there for millions of years waiting for the layers to form around them.

@micah1116 No you're right, to surround a large body fossil such as a whale or tree with sediment would happen rapidly over a period of weeks or months or even less due to a turbidity current. It's the rock formation that takes the time and that's what she's referring to. I don't know the term polystrate but I guess it means through many strata, again it is reasonable to expect that in areas of rapid deposition such as volcanic areas you would get these without resorting to religious nonsense
