Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series. It follows the lives of interns, residents and their mentors in the fictional Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital in Seattle, Washington. The pilot episode, "A Hard Day's Night" premiered on March 27, 2005 on ABC.

"Season One"

Season one of Grey's Anatomy, an American medical drama television series developed by Shonda Rhimes, began airing on March 27, 2005 on ABC. The season concluded on May 22, 2005, after 9 episodes aired. Season one regular cast members include Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T.R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey.

"Season Two"

Season two of Grey's Anatomy, an American medical drama television series developed by Shonda Rhimes, began airing on September 25, 2005 on ABC. The season concluded on May 15, 2006, after 27 episodes aired. Season two regular cast members include Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T.R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Isaiah Washington, Patrick Dempsey and Kate Walsh becoming series regular after guest starring in season one's finale and the first five episode of season two.

"Season Three"

Season three of Grey's Anatomy, an American medical drama television series developed by Shonda Rhimes, began airing on September 21, 2006 on ABC. The season concluded on May 17, 2007, after 25 episodes aired. Season three regular cast members include Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T.R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey. Eric Dane and Sara Ramirez became main cast members, having guest starred in the second season, while Kate Walsh departed from the show at the end of the third season to star in spin-off drama Private Practice, which was launched via the backdoor pilot episode "The Other Side of This Life".

"Season Four"

Season four of Grey's Anatomy, an American medical drama television series developed by Shonda Rhimes, began airing on September 27, 2007 on ABC. The season concluded on May 22, 2008. Only 17 episodes were produced during this season due to the 2007-08 writers strike. During the strike production ceased but, following the strike, Grey's Anatomy returned on April 24, 2008 with six new episodes.

"Season Five"

Season five of Grey's Anatomy, an American medical drama television series developed by Shonda Rhimes, began airing on September 25, 2008 on ABC. The season concluded on May 14, 2009 after 24 episodes had aired.
