So many performers I remember when they were alive and now most of them are gone, God bless them. I remember I use to take wife to see them on stage. Wonderful memories on this film.

@cmlbob Oh my, I like Jean Shepard's singing.
If I left the impression that I did not enjoy her singing in previous messages, I am sorry!!
I think we were talking about the song performed and it's origins .
I like her recorded duet with Ferlin Husky titled "Dear John"
Sincerely,
Lloyd.

@richardcwood1 Imagine how the singers were in the lights. It must have been rather uncomfortable. I recently uploaded 5 episodes of the Old American Barn Dance. Patsy Montana, Homer & Jethro , The SaddlePals , and many more early '50's country stars are featured.
My Dad ODIE STANTON (guitar) used to play with her and Hawkshaw in the late 50's and early 60's.

I went to the Opry in 1948. The ole Ryman was hot and uncomfortable, but the entertainment back then made you forget the heat.
The Carter Family, Hank Williams, Red Fowley and Roy Acuff were there. I loved it.
