I've been in the repair field since 1983, and it breaks my heart to see companies like Samsung and Gold Star (aka LG) are still selling 5-yr substandard electronics in the marketplace. Usually, anything Samsung or Gold Star that came in for repair went straight to the dumpster. It didn't matter if it was repaired properly or not. That junk would ALWAYS come back with a different problem and angry owners. Too bad the Walmart mentality has killed all of the good manufacturers.

same problem bro
The digital board BP94-0208A was on national backorder, my vacation time was running out, cost of repair was adding up, and the chances of repeat failures was high, so I canceled my order for the digital board and got a refund.
DLP projection TV technology is complex and there are many failure modes (lamp, color wheel, circuit boards, light engine). Median Samsung DLP TV lifespan seems to be less than 5 yrs. LCD technology is taking over. My parents got a Sony Bravia XBR LCD as a replacement.

Next I ordered a refurbished "Digital Board", which is not the same as the DMD and not the light engine. This part was on national back order.
BP94-02084A digital board refurbished $285
The analog board (RCA inputs ) feeds into the digital board (HDMI input) which feeds to the DMD/light engine. I think a digital board fault was causing failure of the analog board, and to correct the problem both boards have to be replaced together.

I replaced the "Analog Input Board" because there were brown/burned spots on this board, and the symptoms were consistent. Multiple analog input vid failures, audio ok, menu video ok, PIP (small secondary video channel) ok.
BP94-02049E analog board $130
Worked great, but after about a day, the TV would shutdown by itself. I read online that the analog and digital input boards (not DMD, not light engine) often need to be replaced together.

Hi Ronster064 -- I received feedback on AVSforum that it's the analog input board. After removing 25 screws and 15 multi-connectors, I saw two brown areas on the circuit board indicative of overheating. I reinstalled it and it worked great for a day, and died again. Now there's no startup jingle, no menu screens, just a black screen and the overheated areas are larger. I ordered the analog board BP94-02049E for $150 + $50 core from VanceBaldwin. I'll let you know if it solves the problem.

Interestingly, the PIP displays perfectly (RCA analog input or Cable/Air). From what I understand of how PIP works, there's actually two circuits, one for the main picture and one for PIP. So I think it makes sense that the analog board has a bad main picture circuit.
I pulled out the Analog input board of the Samsung HL-R4667W.

My parents' Samsung DLP rear projection TV HL-R4667W is about 2.5 years old and has video problems. The TV Guide menu screen, Setup menu screen and audio are perfect. The video from all RCA inputs (Air, DVD, VCR, AV3) are projected as a kermit green screen, green w/ vertical stripes, black screen, occassional flickers of source video, blue screen, blue vertical stripes and rarely magenta screen, green/blue vertical striped screen. Does anybody know what component or circuit failed? Thank you!
