This is a first attempt at recording a liturgical improvisation. I hope to learn more about the art by receiving critique from supportive viewers.

  • This is your own improv? Sounds great from here, Dr. Bunbury. Hearing this reminds me of some of Dom Paul Benoit's works (I have his 50 elevations on modal themes).

BTW - the last Aeolian Skinner I played was a III/26 instrument at Precious Blood in Woonsocket, RI. Nice organ, but the current pastor tends to think that Haugen, Haas, and Schutte are the only ones that can write music for Holy Mass. Too bad.

  • Thanks for the kind words. I also play some of Paul Benoit's pieces. Good luck with convincing your pastor regarding choice of music. Fortunately, mine has the opposite attitude.

  • I actually left that church in 1997, after 8 years there. I'm doing substitute work on another A/S - a 1969 III/28 in Providence.
