Single turbo supra since 2003 finally had it's day on the dyno.
14psi no problem on the dyno but after years of daily driving one day 27psi was a little too much. Let alone car was at 12.9:1 air fuel unfornately didn't react fast enough and lift. Knock sensors engaged at 5800rpms by 6200rpms timing was reduced by AEM from 12.5 degrees (default) to 6 degrees which could be why the motor went or merely it was safeguarding the already inevitable motor destruction.

  • How much modding did you have to do to fit the 4l80e in there with the GM bell? What are you using to control it?

  • Lots of hammering out the tunnel... went with the stock 4l80e bellhousing. Had to hammer the crap out of it. Custom transmission brace, bellhousing -> 2jz adapter, custom 2jz -> 3 bolt chevy torque converter. Solid driveshaft. B&M ratchet shifter. STage 3 transgo kit manual valve body with a push button lockup 5 disk converter.

  • Should have bought decent plugs to start with. It's your own fault.

  • Explain how that caused a rod to go through the block.

  • Time to get an LSX motor. And an auto trans? Ghey Ghey Ghey.

  • Didn't you notice the 4l80e gm transmission bolted behind the 2jz? Half way there.

  • damn

  • Its called detonation, 12.5 afr is not safe on any engine boosting more than 15 psi if that. Good luck with a new build

  • running 12.5AFR on that much boost and you dont know why a rod let go? time to find a new tuner.

  • I love this car....

  • better on the dyno than on the track I spose.

  • 12.5 A/F Didnt help this engine. Should have been more like 11.5 A/F

  • You must have said some bad words when it happened... lol

  • splosion :)

  • bad torque
