http://richarddawkins.net - On the 30th of September 2007, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens sat down for a first-of-its-kind, unmoderated 2-hour discussion, convened by RDFRS and filmed by Josh Timonen.

All four authors have recently received a large amount of media attention for their writings against religion - some positive, and some negative. In this conversation the group trades stories of the public's reaction to their recent books, their unexpected successes, criticisms and common misrepresentations. They discuss the tough questions about religion that face the world today, and propose new strategies for going forward.

  • all four of these are incredible, but when hitchens speaks you just get a chill down your spine.

  • I love how, when there are some minor differences in opinion between the 4, they merely express those opinions, and recognize each others positions and come to a decision. No yelling, shouting, accusing, or crass passive-agressive jabs. Merely calm, civil discourse. Gives me faith in humanity, however fleeting.

  • @CornishRicky why did that speak "volumes"?

  • I'd like to share this, it happened today. I was talking to a Christian, a very intelligent and otherwise reasonable woman, explaining what atheism was and why I didn't believe in any God. When I started to ask her about her beliefs, she looked very frightened and said "please don't convert me". I thought that spoke volumes.

  • The Four Horsemen...I can think of no more appropriate title.

  • How can Christianity be correct when Santa Claus obviously is an atheist?! XD

  • Hey everybody, please please sign this online petition for a Hitchens monument, it has 9000 signatures already but judging by the view counts on his videos it is nowhere close to representative to public feeling. Also the thumbs up to highlight this would be greatly appreciated. :) .atheist-reference. org/ x
