i know this as a seat belt choke

Ken, this is so so good and technical..thans for your time and insight of the positions....opens up my minds sometimes.....OSSSSQ

@918Anon Thing is you have to keep in mind Ken is showing you proper movement that can help you escape. They could do this or that but that only turns into a scramble, if you work good on the principles you will win in that outcome. Thanks for your thoughts.

@918Anon I understand that. A pin in Judo/Sambo is usually points in BJJ (Side Control, Mount, etc). But this choke (as seen in this video) and the variant I described do not involve any pins.

@pcjudosambo Keep in mind there are no "pins" in BJJ (unlike Judo/Sambo)

@pcjudosambo If the guy is smart he'll either (A) not allow you to get that other under-hook, and (B) start shifting his hips away from the choke and put his back on the mat. This version is necessary when your opponent does this instead of just sitting still and letting you choke him. Most higher belts will immediately go to put their back on the mat when you try to choke them. That's why you rarely see the version you're referring to in high-level competition. But, you see this one constantly.
Ken, I'm getting my orange belt in Judo this tuesday. Wish me luck!
