READ THIS BOX BEFORE YOU POST....PARTICULARLY ELITIST GUITARIST DUMBASSES!!

Okay, now that I have your attention with some ridiculous "e-yelling" or whatever they call it these days, I think it's time I explain this video because some dolts don't seem to grasp the fucking concept of what this video was all about.

In all my years as a guitarist, I've heard of the Jaguar and Jazzmaster being touted as a "surf" or "punk" or "grunge" or "post-punk" guitar. Personally, I'm sick of hearing about "this guitar goes with this genre, and that guitar goes with that genre"...hence the "it ain't your daddy's surf guitar" or whatever that's in the stupidly long and redaundant title. I was pissed off that day at a bunch of alternative elitist fucktards who felt the need to bash me because I play 80's influenced rock on a 60's style guitar. To me, the Jaguar is good for more than just strumming jangly chords and writing about boring buearucratic politics.

Many have bitched about my comment that "I follow no one", there's a reason I said that here, it applies to the CONTEXT of which the video was a statement about. Does Edward Van-Halen play a Jaguar? NO! Does Steve Vai-Play a Jazzmaster, NO! Does Yngwie Malmsteen shred it up on a Duo-Sonic...I don't think so. The point was not original in the context of style, but CHOICE OF INSTRUMENT. Apparently too many of you are too daft to figure that one out.

As for my tapping sucking, well, let's see here, I was not playing regularly, I made this video SPUR OF THE MOMENT and in a very bad mood, like a shoot you and fuck your girlfriend kind of mood. Yes, I take my guitar work VERY seriously, because it's a huge part of me. Some of you "I want to play guitar to fuck and get famous" people might not understand that, while those are great and honorable goals, it's not the reason I do this.

Why do I do it, because it's fun, and I like the sound of my own playing, and apparently, a lot of other people do too, so if you have a problem with my vids, or my guitar work, or my choice of axe, choice of amp, or whatever... you can go away, or GO FUCK YOURSELF, since that's probably all you do anyway.

As I have said, I'm done with being nice about this, I'm done with being classy, it's a shame it had to go this far, but I'm fed up with answering the same 3-5 bullshit flames every 2 weeks on this stupid little video I made spur of the moment which I had no idea a lot of people would even pay attention to.

  • I have watched quite a few of this guys videos and read the some of the shitty comments, and he has made a few less than desirable guitars sound pretty damn good to me.

I have only this to say. This dude could stretch a rubber band across a Cherrio box and make it sound great!

Keep up the good work and fuck all the dumbshit! *****

  • Lol, the irony is I play rubber bands on boxes too, I just have to be bored enough and have enough office supplies around.

  • your tapping sucks, and i find it funny you only follow yourself but that tapping was clearly worked off eruption

  • As for tapping. That is an INCORRECT term. Tapping is when you fret a note and TAP another note on a different fret....tapping is short for TAPPED HARMONICS. What I was doing there, for the most part, is RIGHT HAND HAMMER ONS. You do hammer-on's with your right hand. Also, EVH did NOT invent it, but rather, just like the solidbody guitar, there's been a LOT of debate on who did. Some tell me Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top was first.

  • Hot Damn I love the description from creepingnet!

  • Calm down angry metal man, you might have a heart attack. Your Jaguar is very nice, you are absolutely right. Your tapping isn't terrible either, so don't be discouraged.

  • @jdbarton3312 Oh shit! LOLOL!

  • Righteous outrage in the description, I feel the same, & bear the same philosophy towards most subjects, but get this I'm 19.

  • i want a jazzmaster so bad simply coz i dont see anyone play it like i want to play it.

its so much easier to bash someone else. usually the people that do are to busy bashing other people to work on their own bad technique

  • Incredibly long ongoing dispute as to what the the Jag & J Master are good for. Way back to the 60's. Find some early Joe Pass & you find him playing both,,, Straight ahead jazz.

  • I do enjoy checking out people using the Jag for things that aren't surf or ambient. It's a really versatile guitar if you put the right pickups in and give it a good setup. This guy is a case in point so well done dude! (Joe Pass using it for jazz is cool too.)

As Jag owner I've learnt way more about how to make your instruments play and sound great. than I did with the four Gibsons I owned before it It's a hard beast to tame but if you can it'll do almost any genre, and do it well.

  • I love your tone and guitars etc, but please don't scare off the elitists! It is so funny to see what arseholes they can make of themselves!

  • I agree. I could pull alot of this off with a good amp and 0 effects or a good processor and a cheap amp. However, I do not play that well. The guitar itself is somewhat irrelevant. I can make a cheap squirre do all that. Just not that good. This guy is awesome.
