can someone explain this to me, in watching the "tackle" again its more and more looking like he was just clearing his lines and he just overstretched and meant his foot followed through, which occurs when any ball is kicked... the great game is being ruined, sooner or later it will become a non contact sport. the players might as well have a round of golf to see who wins the game! ludicrous!

@nicbrit93 There's clearly no malice or intent to harm AND he wins the ball first. But as i've been reminded by Evertonians all day- it's the same as Jack Rodwell's red in the derby. The ref has seen it as a two footed uncontrolled lunge, and if that's what he's seen then he's always gonna give a straight red.
