  • how many times do u feed your tang fish with seaweed? how did u get so many xenia corals?

  • Usually one full sheet of seaweed per day (folded up like a paper football) seems to be enough for the 4 tangs in this tank. Some days, if they gobble it up too quickly, I'll put in a second sheet.

The xenia started from two small rocks and just spread on its own. It can be a real love/hate thing sometimes... like weeding the garden, but it adds so much movement to the tank and friends seem to love it, so I put up with it.

  • Amazing tank. The growth is incredible. R u telling me you only have 480W VHO lighting this tank(2x daylight + 1 super actinic). I actually purchased the same light setup today and I'm very excited to see the growth/colors/etc. I was thinking about putting another 160W, but this would entail buying another ballast (430 icecap) plus super actinic bulb. I really don't want to spend that much more so could you please tell me your experience/results/advise on this 3bulb setup?? Thank you so much!!

  • Sorry for the delay. I didn't get a notice of your comment. To answer your question, Yes, there are only three 72" 160w VHO bulbs. The exact bulbs are UV brand, two Actinic White (50/50) bulbs and one Super Actinic. Excellent growth for soft corals and LPS, although if you plan on keeping SPS I would advise MH or a T5 setup with good reflectors. Also a lot of wildly colored Zoanthids require more intense lighting to keep those colors. Happy reefing!

  • Looks sweet how long have you had the tank up in running?

  • This particular tank has been going for several years.

It has been broken down, moved, and set back up 3 times since I've owned it.

It's been a little over 2 years since the last time it was moved.

  • Wish I had some of those Xenia's. While drifted around in the tank not to be seen again. Check out my vids. I'd like to see an update of this system today...

  • B&G EXTREMELY LOVES YOUR WATER WORLD , KISSIMMEE FLORIDA.

  • whats at 1:40

  • you sure had a crap load of xenias!

  • I love xenia!!... and hope it will grow wild in mine! :)

  • How do your sps corals do under this light and what kind of flow do you have? From what I see it looks like 2x 1200gph powerheads with the return pump ?gph. Did you buy those sps large of were they small frags? I have a 125g with 2xhydor koralia 4s and a 900gph return. Would this be enough flow? and I have the Identical lighting setup? Much thanks

  • Wonderful tank!

  • No way!...it'll take you years to weed out those xenias. hehehe Better left alone.
