@invisiblekid14 Well put! I have equal respect for Holdsworth in his own right - very much the Coltrane of the guitar. Such a humble fellow as well. Not a fan of Gambale, watching Sco play makes you realise how much Frank is lacking! Saw him live last weekend for the second time and was really disappointed. Brainless "shred".

look, i'm sorry to retaliate once again, but get the album John Scofield - That's What I Say: Plays The Music Of Ray Charles.
forget him phrasing like a guitarist or a saxophonist. he's a singer. his tone and phraseology is just mind-blowing - something neither holdsworth nor gambale posses.
SCO is the master!
