4th of July baseball game at San Diego Stadium (later Jack Murphy Stadium, now Qualcomm Stadium). Sometime in the late 1970s. What were my priorities? The footage tells: 5 seconds of arriving at the stadium, 2 seconds of the game, and 55 seconds of fireworks after the game. This was in the era when fireworks were special, seen only on the 4th of July. Sorry, it's silent! But now it has a soundtrack.
I lived in San Diego for a while. I remember going downtown and seeing a plaque over at the one parking lot that used to have the Padres playing at a stadium there. But after being one of the last fans @ the Q, and the first @ PETCO, I can say it was a treat. I have pics of PETCO still & I miss seeing baseball. I now live in Nebraska. I guess I am going to have to make a trip to K.C. to see the Padres play the Royals...*sigh*. Good luck to the Padres in 2008!! Go Kahalil!!
