Apologies again for the rubbish quality, I still haven't got a proper camcorder, and the lighting is poor.
The abrasive i'm shaking in the tank is about 3-4 cups full of "Coarse Grit" by J. Arthur Bower sold for dressing the soil around plants. I just spotted it at the hardware shop and thought "oh, that looks quite abrasive and easy to pour in and out of the tank".
It's important not to use anything too heavy as you could end up with a hammered effect tank! Do this at your own risk! Also, use a funnel to pour the grit into the tank.
Expect to ache by the time you've finished! A less strenuous way would be to fill the tank with a phosphoric acid solution or use electrolytic rust removal (do a search on youtube) but I wanted to avoid putting water in the tank so did it the hard way. Also, with Acid, it will remove some good metal too, so would be risky on a 30 year old tank!!!

Rinse the tank out well after doing this, and FIT AN INLINE FILTER!!!!!
