THIS SONG IS very SPECIAL TO ME, my friend Paul was moving to Japan in July of 2004, our church had a 5th Sunday Sing at the end of May, the last service Paul would attend before moving, James Bradley, a deacon of our little church sang this song for Paul and family that night. One year later they returned for a visit and James had been stricken with terminal cancer, he passed away the following July, and now every time this song is heard it brings back memories of James singing it. So rest on that beautiful shore Brother Jim! We will see you again one of these days!

  • THis was really great. I really enjoyed it. Me and my daddy and sister used to play our guitars together and sing all these kind of songs. You kind of remind me of my dad. ^_^

  • Excellent singing of this song, nicely done. This was my grandma or grandpa's song may they rest in peace.

  • My hat's off to Paul. Beautiful song - and well done !! Don't you miss those 5th Sunday Night Singings ?? When I was a kid - musicians "Lived" for those few months that had five Sunday nights. Great times - and great memories !!

  • @GRASSROOTSGOSPEL Your version of this classic takes me bake to Sunday School where many church members would sing sologs, from the heart as you sing. I subscribed to your page. Those days back in Sunday school and church wer precious. I didn't understand preaching very well but I did understand the gospel in music. Thank you. David Dimitrie, London, Ontario Canada

  • thanks bro, very nice, indeed...

  • This one too. This one is very significant to us aging baby boomers!!

  • I thought no one could do this one like the version I have of Clinch Mountain Boys, but you have really done this song justice. Thanks for posting it, it means a lot to me.

  • At a separating of men from being together for years under harsh conditions, they sat me down the day I left and sang this to me which is never done. I'll never forget it.

  • Great song. Great voice. Singing right along with you. God Bless

  • I love you mom, I love you so much. Merry Christmas!
