Celebrating Good Health

Nutrition Month is the time when we celebrate health. Health is the complete fitness of the body, roundness of mind and wholesomeness of emotions. Health is very important. Eating nutritious foods like vegetables and fruits help maintain good health. Being healthy and physically fit keep us away from fatigue and emotional stress. Being healthy aids in increasing life span and brings better quality to our lives.
In the recently concluded nutrition month celebration of our school, it strengthened the awareness of the students on the benefits of eating healthy foods. Easy-to-cook nutritious foods were taught to the students and parents participated preparing simple, nutritious but delicious dishes. Video clips about the dangers of eating unhealthy food and drinking soft drinks were shown to the students. The anti-sofdrinks campaign was launched by the school to discourage unhealthy consumption of sodas that may lead to obesity, diabetes and other soda related sickness.
On the second day of the activity, students, parents and teachers had group exercises and a fun run to teach everyone that exercise is just as important as eating the right foods. The celebration made everyone aware on the advantages of staying fit and living a healthy life style.
