  • You all need to set down and work together and get it done stop talking and pointing fingers we need it taken care of now!

  • Go forward and keep trying, sir.The nay -sayers are wrong!

  • A balanced budget amendment will solve the deficit/debt crisis? Ignoring that the current taxation policy punishes average Americans and devastated the country. Ignoring a tax policy purchased over thirty years by an army of lobbyists armed with billions of dollars paid to accepting politicians eager to do the bidding of special interests in order to keep the money flowing. We do not have a deficit/debt crisis we have a corruption crisis. And a balanced budget amendment cannot correct that.

  • Mr. Hensarling, I have always appreciated what you have done for me and your honesty,. I thought that assisting citizens was what elected officials were for.. One big waste , but the supplemental insurance companies, not only do they get the medicare premium (which is to go to abt. $106.00 approx;) they also get $750.00 per month from from every one enrolled for paperwork , whether there is a claim or not , a new company gets $10,000.00 for a new enrollee. No wonder we are broke!

  • Jeb, I keep my books balanced both as a doctor and a father. It is time to force the other party to the table and get a dose of reality. Did their mothers clean up their messes so they never learned the rules o survival. Ernest Brownlee JR M. D.

  • I wonder we are cutting $1.2 T on top of balanced budget. If we don't balance the budget, what is the point about cutting $ 120 billion a year when we have $ 1.5 Trillion budget deficit for just this year? How on earth that is solution?

  • I am not a fan of government dependency and personal irresponsibility, but it is easy to see that the democrat party and their voters are the mother lode of both.

  • If we go into civil war mode the deficit will go thought the roof and your money won't be worth the paper it'd written on that's a simple fact.and it could take up to 40 yrs to be a power again or longer both sides have to give a little to make this work.

  • I live in congressman Hensarling's district, voted for him in the past but now I a sense of the same collective bargaining between him and the establishment that was intended to change upon his arrival! To suggest that a 12 member special super committee was the answer is insane, it just shows citizens were right all along we paid too much of a price for the other 333 members so just fire them all and start all over!

  • A balanced budget is all well & good, however, another amendment won't make it happen. There's too many useless amendments already. We have regs on top of regs. Tax codes by the thousands. Government is out of control. We counted on our electeds to be our watch dog and most only watch out for themselves. We need radical change starting with radical spending cuts. Less government not more. AND no more career politicians. Back to the original plan for congress. Live as your constiuants have to.
