Sir, I want to thank you for adding your awesome piano to my new CD while you were in Phoenix. My producer and dear friend, Clarke Rigsby, made it happen and I am proud and honored. My first CD, "Vietnam Blues - Combat Tested Blues... For Peace," has been used to treat PTSD veterans at the Phoenix VA Hospital. So this one, "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Blues" I specifically wrote to help combat vets deal with PTSD. Thanks to your help this CD will do some good for our returning troops.
Great piano!! Have you ever heard of Frank Melrose aka Kansas City Frank? He played, recorded, etc in Chicago in the 20's 30's and early 40's? I love anything on the piano, but the type that you play (my father played also) is right up my alley,...and you do a fantastic job!!
i met him as a stranger at a record store.. he looked at me cuz of the songs i listend to and he asked me,, u like blues and soul music from the 50s and 60s? and im like hell yea!!! hes like u know wat i like u... he gave me one of his cd's a little poster and some stickers of him for free and i was shocked to find out he was famous
Wow. I used to hang out (briefly) with Chuck and his wife (what a sweet lady! She's too good for you Chuck!). I never asked where it all came from - I just hung around to hear the music and secretly wished he'd ask me to sing. Goes to show ya - it can be really fascinating to learn about the people you know.
